Enhancing Educational Opportunities with the Angleton ISD Education Foundation
Challenge
The Angleton ISD (AISD) Education Foundation began working with GiveSmart several years ago, recognizing how valuable easy, online giving was to engage their donors, parents who were, by nature, getting younger and younger.
Their current Executive Director, Laurin Moore, was happy with GiveSmart’s fundraising abilities. She knew they wanted to add events to their calendar and would need to expand their online fundraising to incorporate ticketing, raffles, auctions, and more. Moore also recognized the multiple other systems they were using to track lifetime donor behavior were creating excessive, manual work for their staff which resulted in inaccurate, incomplete reporting for their board.
Moore knew an investment in better donor management would be necessary to best steward and celebrate their supporters.
Solution
As they grew their fundraising plans to include ticketed events, they started using more of the GiveSmart platform to enable and grow these revenue drivers. These elevated events that offered sponsorship opportunities, raffles, auctions, merchandise sales, and more also exponentially grew their donor community.
Given their good experience fundraising with the platform, Moore explored what GiveSmart’s newest addition, Donor CRM, offered for donor management. After evaluating some options, the Foundation felt Donor CRM offered what it needed to further engage its growing donor network and ultimately sustain revenue growth.
The AISD Education Foundation has had a good experience from the beginning with Donor CRM, in part due to a well-communicated, smooth implementation process.
As anyone who has managed donors knows, name changes, address changes, and other life events often result in messy records for nonprofits. Most CRMs make rectifying these discrepancies difficult. Donor CRM’s merge center offers the AISD Education Foundation accurate record-keeping support.
Furthermore, Moore’s team can securely grant viewer access across the GiveSmart platform to allow board members and high-level volunteers to easily self-serve, so that they are not waiting on her to deliver multiple spreadsheets and fundraising data.
Impact
As AISD barrels toward a projected 50% student population increase, the Foundation’s continued growth is paramount to serve their socioeconomically diverse community. Their students deserve access to robotics, social and emotional learning, fine arts programming, and more. They’ve already achieved unprecedented academic growth, despite barriers.
The AISD Education Foundation is setting itself up to eliminate any funding gaps so that their deserving student body is offered the well-rounded education and supplemental opportunities they deserve.
