The two outcomes of switching to [GiveSmart] were this – we saved countless hours through automated data entry, and we raised more by making it easier to give.”

Challenge

Solution

Little Red Door Cancer Society, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit committed to helping uninsured and underserved people with cancer, has held its Annual Face of Hope Breakfast for the past 12 years. Chelsy Fields, Little Red Door’s Client Services and Development Operations Manager, knew she could raise more money at the breakfast if it were easier for attendees to donate.

Each year attendees of the Annual Face of Hope Breakfast had to either bring a check for donations or write their credit card information down on a napkin for pre-populated pledge forms. With [GiveSmart’s] text-to-donate, attendees could now easily donate from their seats without potentially sharing their credit card numbers with their table. Table captains of the breakfast also had individual giving pages, eliminating attendees’ need to submit donations via their table captain.

Impact

[GiveSmart’s] biggest time saver for the Little Red Door was its automated data entry. With [the platform], Fields can directly import event donations and new donors directly into Little Red Door’s SalesForce account. What used to take Fields three months is now completed the night after a fundraising event. [GiveSmart’s] text-to-donate made giving easier for Little Red Door supporters, but its automated thank you receipts saved the staff countless hours. Because of the automated receipts, the Little Red Door team had to follow up with only 30 of the 1,400 plus Face of Hope Breakfast attendees who donated via check.
